Stores that offer layaway all year do still exist. Though the numbers have dwindled in previous years, I’m happy to report that a few still see the benefit.
For people working with a budget and people who do not want to rack up a balance on their credit cards, this is good news!
Layaway gives us the option to purchase an item over a period of time by making payments. Generally, a percentage down is required, and a schedule is set up, but this isn’t always the case. It’s always best to double check the retailer’s policy before setting up a layaway.
4 Stores That Offer Layaway All Year
1. T.J. Maxx
T.J Maxx has always been a favorite store of mine, so I’m so excited that the store local to me offers layaway all year long.
It’s important to note that not all T.J Maxx stores offer layaway in stores and it is not available online.
Not all items are available for layaway, but Sears had a great selection that is. For instance, I purchased my husband a grill years ago using their layaway program.
I was able to make payments online, which I loved and all together, it was a very smooth process.

Like Sears, Kmart offers layaway all year long on a large variety of merchandise. You are required to make bi-weekly payments, and you can pick up your item anytime after the last payment is made.
Marshalls is another store that offers layaway all year long. Unfortunately, like T.J. Maxx it is only available in individual stores. I hope luck is on your side!
I for one, am grateful that these stores haven’t thrown in the towel on layaway just yet. No matter your budget, you should be able to find and purchase what you want with the help of Kmart, Sears, T.J Maxx, or Marshalls. 🙂
